The Day The Phone Died

The Day My Phone Died

After Rafaqat left things did not get worse as we thought. Felt a lot of exertion by the end of the day due to self-service. Along this I was the only person at home with a cell phone.

Mother’s phone got stolen and little brother’s phone was with the service company for a week. Mine was only available for everyone’s usage.

Don’t know what happened but the display went off. Though, the phone stays on. Tried a lot to fix it through restarts, and opening and closing but realized it’s time to buy a new one.

The Day He Left

Woke up late and things got delayed. You get pissed at yourself when you don’t get up at the planned hour. Servants start work early everyday and its quite impossible to beat them.

The Kitchen Boy

I asked the kitchen boy Rafaqat to make tea for me. My mother brought me tea with the news of Rafaqat that he had a fight while working so he left for good. I realized why the tea took a lot of time. Rafaqat has done this leaving the work many times.

I knew about him, his parents forced him to work with us. He was just a helper who knew how to make bread and tea.

The Cook

We also have a part time cook with us. His name is Iftikhar. He is quick in his work, makes breakfast, lunch and dinner in just two hours. Then he heads to some other house to do the same. Repeat. Iftikhar was successful in making Rafaqat to stay with us and work earlier but this time he was not that effective.

Self-Service

Mother was angry but I felt relieved. Cook left to head somewhere else and the rest of the day became peaceful. Self-service is better than getting served by someone who is not willing to. When we did most of the things by ourselves we became quite active. Plus, you fall in to sleep very easily by the end of the day and you are not like stuck anymore.
